MANNAHATTA 2100

Augmented Reality Portals of the Future

Visions of the Future

Mannahatta 2100 is an immersive eco-city installation exploring two possible futures for New York City in the year 2100: one shaped by climate collapse and another transformed through ecological restoration, climate justice, and regenerative urban design.

Combining physical installation, speculative worldbuilding, and Snap Spectacles augmented reality glasses, the project invites audiences to imagine how today’s choices will shape tomorrow’s city while inspiring hope, civic imagination, and collective climate action.

Inspired by Mannahatta—the Indigenous Lenape name for Manhattan, meaning “land of many hills”—the installation reimagines the city through native plants, restored ecosystems, and resilient urban futures.

The project has been exhibited at MIT Reality Hack, Harvard Innovation Labs, New York Tech Week, Pratt Institute, and other public XR showcases.

The project includes a clear call to action through a curated Resource Hub connecting users to climate organizations and local engagement opportunities.
